CuP Alloys at the Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition

CuP Alloys at the Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition

A long-standing tradition of supporting the model engineering community

For many years, CuP Alloys has proudly exhibited at the Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition, one of the most respected and well-attended events in the UK model engineering calendar.

Held annually at the Warwickshire Event Centre, the exhibition brings together clubs, societies, professional suppliers, and individual engineers for several days of inspiration, learning, and shared enthusiasm for the craft. This post brings together highlights from recent years and will be continually updated as new exhibitions take place.

The Show for Model Engineers

Organised by Meridienne Exhibitions, the Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition is widely regarded as the premier event for model engineers in the UK. Across recent years, the show has consistently featured:

  • 30+ model engineering clubs and societies
  • Dozens of specialist trade suppliers
  • Hundreds of models on display
  • A full programme of talks, demonstrations, and workshops

The exhibition is as much about community as it is about craftsmanship—providing a space to exchange ideas, learn new techniques, and see what’s possible at the highest level of model engineering.

Why CuP Alloys Keeps Coming Back

At CuP Alloys, supporting model engineers has always been central to what we do. Exhibiting at the Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition gives us the opportunity to meet customers face-to-face, answer technical questions, and offer practical, experience-led advice that goes beyond what can be shared online.

Visitors to our stand can explore our full range of silver solders, brazing alloys, fluxes, torches, and heating equipment, discuss real projects and material choices, and receive clear, honest guidance from people who work with brazing alloys every day.

Learning From the Experts

One of the defining features of the exhibition is its strong educational focus. Over the years, visitors have enjoyed demonstrations and talks from leading figures in model engineering, covering everything from machining techniques to metal joining best practice.

In recent exhibitions, Shaun Meakin, Director at CuP Alloys, has delivered well-attended talks exploring brazing from both a historical and practical perspective—connecting centuries-old techniques with modern workshop methods. These sessions are designed to be valuable whether you’re:

  • New to brazing and silver soldering
  • Refining your technique
  • Looking to better understand alloy selection and process control

A Proven, Successful Event

The 46th Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition, held in October 2025, demonstrated just how important this event remains to the community. As the only major model engineering exhibition in the UK that year, it was a resounding success, welcoming: 39 leading specialist suppliers, 34 model engineering clubs, and thousands of engaged visitors across four days.

The atmosphere, quality of exhibits, and level of discussion once again reinforced why this show holds such a respected place in the model engineering calendar.
